This award is for students who demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought and exceptional achievement in a broad context. They excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and have a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and communities.
Value: The National Scholarship covers tuition, incidental and residence fees for up to four years of study. Finalists not designated as National Scholars receive Arbor Scholarships at a value $7,500 in the first year and $1,500 per year for three additional years of undergraduate study. The scholarship is tenable only at the University of Toronto. Please see Ms. Sansregret in the Sands Career Centre for more info. DEADLINE: October 24, 2019 The Loran Award supports promising young Canadians who show strength of character and a commitment to service in their communities, challenging them to fully realize their leadership potential.
Valued at $100,000 over four years and finalist and provincial awards valued between $2000 - $5,000. To be eligible you must be graduating from high school in 2020 and present a MINIMUM cumulative average of 85%. DEADLINE: January 29, 2020 KEN MICHEL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR ABORIGINAL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PURSUING A CAREER IN CARPENTRY9/20/2019 This scholarship is in loving memory of a man whose skill in the carpentry trade and the love of his people helped build the foundations of honour, pride and strength in his community. It acknowledges both strong work ethic and the desire to work towards the betterment of the community as a whole.
Eligible aboriginal students who wish to pursue a career in carpentry and have grades of 75-100% and volunteer experience are encouraged to apply. Value: $1000.00 DEADLINE October 26, 2019 Douglas College offers entrance scholarships and awards valued over $100,000 to up to 60 new high school graduates every year. SCHOLARSHIPS
As a bonus, students who receive awards and scholarships will receive priority registration, meaning they get the first pick of courses.
