TYPES OF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
Scholarships, Bursaries, Awards, & Student Loans Scholarships, bursaries, awards, and student loans are excellent ways to help finance a student’s post-secondary education. Delta students have the opportunity to apply for provincial and community scholarships. Student loans help make post-secondary education a more affordable option for all students in BC. Students are encouraged to visit their Career & Post-Secondary Advisor in their school’s Career Centre for information.
Ministry of Education Scholarships:
- BC Excellence Scholarship
- BC Achievement Scholarships
- District/Authority Scholarships
- Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship
- Scholarship Vouchers
Community Scholarships
Through the generosity of our community Sands Secondary is able to offer a number of scholarships to our students. Students complete an application form and submit it to the scholarship committee for review. These scholarships are available in April each year. A list of all Sands Scholarships will be posted in the Career Centre for students to review individual criteria.
Entrance Scholarships
Each post-secondary institution offers entrance scholarship opportunities. These are funds to attract students to a particular college or university. Sometimes these scholarships are offered automatically based on high school grades and sometimes additional application forms, resumes and reference letters are required. Any scholarship offer is contingent on accepting the offer of admission for that institution.
