Indigenous Education and Services at snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ Langara College, UBC Faculty of Mathematics, UBC Faculty of Science, and the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) will be running the Emerging Indigenous Scholars Virtual Summer Camp from July 5, 2021 to August 6, 2021. Camp Information
The camp is open for students in grades 9–11. The cost of the camp is free and students will be paid $100 for 7.5 hours of work a week at the end of camp.
The main goal of the camp is to:

Please note – access to a computer/laptop and reliable internet access is required to successfully participate in this camp. Interested applicants will be required to provide a short essay (500 words) outlining why they are interested in participating in the camp, what goals they hope to achieve through participating in this camp, and their overall educational goals.

- increase Indigenous student participation, retention, and high school graduation rates by providing a more solid foundation in mathematics, science, and english;
- expose Indigenous students to real life work experience with faculty and other members of the university community, while participating in workshops, labs, and activities in the fields of mathematics and science;
